Liv Morgan is WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship, but will the title reign be over soon? Also, Montez Ford could get a major push.

Liv Morgan Title Reign To Be Short?

At Money in the Bank, Liv Morgan was able to secure the briefcase and future title shot. After her win, Morgan spoke about wanting to soak in the moment and not talk cash-in.

Well, about two hours after winning the MITB briefcase, Morgan saw her moment. Ronda Rousey had just retained her SmackDown’s Women’s Championship against Natalya.

Then, Morgan’s music hit and she sprinted to the ring. It was official, Morgan was cashing-in her contract.

It looked like Rousey would retain, but Morgan secured a three count. Therefore, Morgan won her first title under the WWE umbrella.

Fans loved how she won the briefcase and the pop was even louder when she captured the title. Now, people are wondering how long Morgan can keep the gold.

Unfortunately, it seems like WWE does not plan on keeping the belt around Morgan for long. In fact, she could drop the SmackDown Women’s Championship come SummerSlam at the end of the month.

Title Reign For Live Morgan May Be Over In Weeks

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the plan originally looked to be Rousey defending against Charlotte Flair. We know Flair was recently married and there is no return date set.

So, that would leave Morgan taking on Rousey at SummerSlam.

“Right now, the plan is Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam,” said Meltzer. “Which kind of surprises me in a lot of ways, especially because they didn’t leave with any heat.”

“Ronda just hugged ‘Morgan], walked out of the ring and let her have her moment. They’ve been building for this with Liv Morgan for a while.”

“It is interesting though. As I think almost everybody figured it was going to be Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey at SummerSlam, and it’s not.”

We have seen some wrestlers be elevated by winning Money in the Bank. Then, there are others that only seem like paper champions.

Rousey has barely lost in WWE, so it seems difficult to imagine Morgan can stop her. Hopefully, Morgan gets more than a few weeks with the title.

At Money in the Bank, The Street Profits put on an amazing performance against The Usos. Still, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins were unable to win all the tag team gold.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted how WWE is very happy with Ford. In fact, there is talk of giving him a singles run and thus splitting the team.

“I know there are people who want to push Montez Ford as a singles star,” said Meltzer. “I could see them doing something with Ford as a single. There are people high on him right now, especially with his new physique.”

It should be noted how WWE hinted at a possible split for the team. During MITB, the announcers mentioned how the duo were having problems lately.

With Bianca Belair as his wife, fans could be seeing the next power couple of WWE.
