Brock Lesnar Hat

We’re on the road to SummerSlam! Here’s a great breakdown, but let’s dig into a few details you may have missed.

A Brief Note On the Opening Segment

Brock Lesnar opened the show with a big Texas welcome. The farmer and pig slaughterer started his promo by politely removing his hat, acknowledging as much. It is considered improper to wear a cowboy hat indoors.

According to Wide Open Country, taking your hat off inside is basic etiquette. Apart from removing your hat at funerals and when introducing yourself to a lady, in general, it is good to keep it off indoors:

“Last but not least, remove your hat when entering a public building or private home, when you begin a new conversation, dining in a restaurant, or when speaking with an elder of the church. Basically, just plan on not wearing hats indoors as a good rule of thumb.”

Will Dominik Mysterio turn on his Father?

The Judgement Day is putting the hard sell on Dominik Mysterio. They want the emerging lucha star to escape his father Rey’s shadow and join them.

Rey and Dominik have been due for a breakup for a while, and credit to WWE for letting them stay together for this long. But honestly, I think setting up an Apuestas (hair vs. mask) match for SummerSlam or, even better, next year’s WrestleMania would be the perfect spot for the Mysterios and would be great for elevating Dom.

Alexa Bliss & Asuka’s History.

There was an odd pairing on Monday Night Raw with Asuka and Alexa Bliss teaming up to face the Scottish Sirens* Doudrop and Nikki ASH. Bliss & Asuka seem to be neutral, so perhaps it makes sense to throw them together?

The two defeated the Sirens and looked like a team for the future. But this isn’t their whole store. Bliss & the Empress of Tomorrow were involved in the Thunderdome Era feud that served as a backdrop for Bliss’s bizarre feud vs. Randy Orton.

Scattered notes:

  • Is Alexa Bliss’ new gimmick that she’s aggressively normal?
  • Dolph Ziggler appears to be Theory’s new feud partner…maybe someone can get him a better suit.
  • Seth Rollins is the best wrestler in the WWE and probably in North America. Hard to think of anyone in another big promotion putting in the level of work he is at this very moment.
  • The Bianca-Carmella match was pretty solid; try to check it out.

*A team name I made up but they should use
