Clint Eastwood is best known as one of the most talented actors and directors in Hollywood, but he is also a father of eight children. He took his role of being a father very seriously. One of Eastwood’s children recently told the surprising story of when his father went full “old school” and disciplined him by punching him in the face.

‘He Popped Me’

The Express reported that Scott Eastwood, who is a successful actor himself, once revealed that his dad punched him in the face for leaving his then-teenaged sister at a party. Scott recalled that he was 16 years old when he attended a house party with his 14-year-old sister Kathryn.

Scott, 36, explained that he absent-mindedly left the party without his sister, “maybe to go get beer with the guys”.

“I left her and I didn’t think about it at the time,” Scott remembered. “Later, Dad found out that I’d left her there.”

Scott went on to say that Clint was so livid about this that he punched him in the face.

“He popped me and said, ‘You don’t ever leave your sister at a party. EVER,'” he recalled. “And it was very old-school, very old-school of him.”

Scott described this as a pivotal moment in his childhood, as it taught him a lesson that he’s never forgotten.

“If you did something wrong, you were going to get punished,” he stated. “I learnt quickly – you don’t do that.”

Clint Refused To Give ‘Handouts’ To His Kids

Clint, 92, was a tough father to all of his children, refusing to give them “handouts” and encouraging hard and honest work, despite being worth millions himself. He had eight children with five different women, with his oldest being 68-year-old Laurie Eastwood and his youngest being 25-year-old Morgan Eastwood.

Scott has said that Clint “definitely was there” during his childhood, adding that his father taught him things like how to fish and shoot a gun.

“Speaking to my dad, it’s like there’s a wealth of knowledge in Fort Knox and you’re trying to pull little slivers out,” he said. “I’m trying to just soak up every piece of knowledge I can from him. I know he’s not going to be around forever and that’s terrifying to think about.”

“My father’s definitely old-school,” Scott once told Esquire. “And he raised me with integrity—to be places on time, show up, and work hard.”

Clint’s Latest Project

Despite being in his 90s, Clint is still just as busy as ever, most recently both directing and acting in the movie Cry Macho last year.

“[Cry Macho] is about a man who has been through some hard times in his life and then unexpectedly another challenge is brought to the foreground,” Clint previously told Entertainment Weekly of this movie. “He would normally never do it, but he is a man of his word. He follows through. And it starts his life over again.”

While some may have a problem with Clint punching his own son in the face, others will find his no-nonsense style of parenting refreshing in this day and age. It’s clear that just like many of the characters he has played onscreen, Clint is not someone to be messed with!
