Lightweights Arman Tsarukyan and Mateusz Gamrot will get their moment in the stars this weekend.

The two headline UFC on ESPN from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The main card airs live on ESPN and ESPN+.

Tsarukyan, a 25-year-old, is 18-2 in his mixed martial arts career, a record that includes a 5-1 mark since signing with the UFC.

He lost his debut to Islam Makhachev in a “Fight of the Night” battle in 2019, but has reeled off five consecutive since. The most recent was a second round finish of Joel Alvarez that earned him a “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Along with topping Alvarez, he also holds wins over Christos Giagos, Matt Frevola, Davi Ramos and Olivier Aubin-Mercier. While no UFC title is on his resume yet, he did win and defend the FEMFP lightweight title in 2017 and 2018.

Gamrot, a native of Poland, is a former Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki lightweight and featherweight champion. He defended the lightweight title four times.

A grappling and wrestling standout, Gamrot has scored three consecutive wins since also losing his UFC debut. His run includes finishes of Carlos Diego Ferreira, Jeremy Stephens and Scott Holtzman, with two “Performance of the Night” bonuses.

Ironically enough, like his opponent, his UFC debut loss was also a “Fight of the Night” thriller with Guram Gutateladze.

Other scheduled bouts include Tyson Nam meeting Tagir Ulanbeko, Neil Magny taking on Shavkat Rakhmonov and JP Buys battling Cody Durden.
