Earlier this week, we reported that Patricia Heaton of “Everybody Loves Raymond” fame had slammed Disney for not casting Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear in the new movie Lightyear. Now, Heaton is complaining that her tweet about this situation got more attention than a tweet she made about “aborted full term babies.”

In case you missed it, here’s Heaton’s tweet about Allen and Buzz Lightyear that has since made headlines around the world.

‘State Of Our Humanity’

On Thursday morning, Heaton look to Twitter once again to lament the fact that this tweet got more attention than a tweet she posted that was pro-life.

“Waking up in London to find my tweet about #BuzzLightyear generated more of a kerfuffle than my tweet about the box of aborted full term babies found in DC,” she wrote. “Let us all ponder the state of our humanity.”

Heaton appears to be referring to this tweet of hers from back in April, which read, “Important interview about the aborted babies recently found in DC.” It then linked to an interview with pro-life activist Lauren Handy, who alleges that she found five full term aborted babies dead in Washington D.C.

“These children were murdered,” she said in the interview.

Heaton’s tweet about this got only 158 likes and 18 retweets. In contrast, her tweet about Allen and Buzz Lightyear got over 46,000 likes, and nearly 4,800 retweets.

Heaton Unapologetically Pro-Life

Heaton’s frustration over this is understandable, given the fact that she is one of the only openly pro-life actresses working in Hollywood today. She’s spent years trying to use her platform to advocate for the unborn, so while she stands with Allen, she’d much rather have her pro-life activism go viral instead of a tweet about Buzz Lightyear.

“Every 36 seconds in America a woman lays her body down forced to choose abortion out of a lack of practical resources and emotional support,” Heaton once said. “Abortion is a reflection that society has failed women.”

She’s also directly attacked Democrats for their “barbaric” stance on abortion.

“I don’t understand why pro-life people want to know if they are ‘welcome’ to join the democrat party [sic],” she wrote on Twitter in 2020. “Why would any civilized person want to support a barbaric platform that champions abortion for any reason through all nine months funded by taxpayers?”

Heaton Doubles Down On Lightyear

Despite her frustrations over what goes viral online and what doesn’t, Heaton has also doubled down on having Allen’s back when it comes to Lightyear.

Ok so the current Buzz Lightyear movie is an origin story – but the reason the character became so beloved is because of what Tim Allen created,” she wrote in a follow up tweet to her original about this subject. “Why remove the one element that makes us want to see it?#stupidHollywooddecisions.”

While we certainly agree with Heaton that Allen should have been cast as Buzz Lightyear, a role that he originated in 1995’s Toy Story, we also agree with her for being frustrated that more people are night fighting to protect the unborn. In the end, Heaton is right that we as a society need to reexamine where our priorities lie.
