Highlights From John Cena’s 20th Anniversary Celebration

It was John Cena Night on Monday Night Raw. Here are a few of the highlights.

Cena’s Backstage Segments

The night began with a handshake line of the entire roster and backstage staff greeting and shaking Cena’s hand. 

Cena then hyped up the Street Profits for their huge match against the Usos at MITB.

After the highlight package at the mid-way point of RAW, the crowd began to cheer for Cena. Perhaps growing antsy that Cena was not going to appear in front of the live audience.

Finally, he was introduced by Mr. McMahon and made his appearance to a raucous crowd.

Cena started with a joke about the “Jorts” sign

He thanked the crowd for their twenty years of loyalty and all the cheers and boos. As he said “Thank you” to the public, the group broke out in a “Thank you Cena!” chant.

He went on to say how being in the WWE taught him to be a better, more empathetic person. He got a little bit emotional during this part.

Cena mentioned that he does not know when he will be in the ring again. He said he isn’t retired yet but does not know when he will wrestle again. He answered a “one more match” chant to say that he would wrestle more than once.

He built up a big chant. And then he thanked the crowd, left up the ramp, and posed with a shirtless pic with some fans.

And that was it. A simple, heartfelt speech. I love this man.
