The country music star Faith Hill was so committed to her hit show “1883” that she even grew out her armpit hair for the role. In a new interview, however, Hill has revealed just how difficult doing this was for her.

‘That Was Really Difficult’

While talking to Courteney Cox for Variety‘s Actors on Actors series, Hill, 54, revealed that she was at a wedding when series creator Taylor Sheridan called to say that she had to grow out her armpit hair for the show.

“That was really difficult, and Taylor actually called my husband. We were at a wedding, our nephew’s wedding, and he said, ‘Who’s gonna be the one to tell your wife that she has to stop shaving under her arms?’ ” she recalled, according to People Magazine. “And I’m thinking, ‘What? We’re at a wedding. Can this wait?’ He goes, ‘No, stop tonight.'”

“All due respect to those who love that, and all that freedom, woo!” she added. “But for me, personally, I just don’t like it.”

Cox responded by saying that she would never be able to grow out her armpit hair for a role because she receives laser hair removal treatments.

“I don’t laser, but I may now, so I never have to do that again,” Hill said. “It really grossed me out, I have to say.”

Hill went on to say that she suggested that they tape fake hair under her armpits for filming, but this request was denied. Watch Hill’s full comments on this in the video below.

‘1883’ Will Be Back

Hill stars with her husband Tim McGraw on “1883,” which is a prequel to the hit series “Yellowstone.” It was announced back in February that “1883” will be coming back and not be ending with the initially-planned nine episodes of it.

“The incredible storytelling and stellar performances behind 1883 have fueled phenomenal new records for Paramount+. We look forward to bringing fans even more of the Duttons’ origin story,” said Tanya Giles, who is the chief programming officer for ViacomCBS Streaming.

Last month, McGraw revealed that Hill had to force him to shower while filming “1883.”

“There were a few times that my wife forced me to take a shower while we were shooting, because I wanted to stay in character as best I could,” he said, according to Insider. “She’s like, ‘I don’t care about Method [acting]. You stink!'”

Back in December, McGraw told People Magazine that Hill slapped him harder than he expected when they were filming one scene.

“I was expecting a finger slap but it was a paw to the jaw,” McGraw said. “There was 25 years of pent-up aggression going on! When you see it on screen, you realize it was a genuine hit.”

‘It Was Really Uncomfortable’

At the time, Hill talked about how difficult it was to film a scene with McGraw in which their characters took a bath together.

“It was really uncomfortable for me personally because I’m a very shy person in that type of situation,” Hill explained. “I obviously feel comfortable with my husband, but this is different. For intimate scenes, I feel like that belongs to us.”

We’re glad that Hill was able to overcome these feelings of awkwardness to make “1883.” It’s truly an incredible show, and we can’t wait for new episodes to come out!
