Dana White On Board With Khabib Vs. Tony Ferguson On TUF
Former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson could be placed on The Ultimate Fighter as coaches.
Khabib Nurmagomedov could be returning to the UFC.
UFC president Dana White confirmed that he would work with Nurmagomedov to have him coach opposite The Ultimate Fighter. Both have stated recently that they would like to meet each other on the series.
“I’ll consider it,” White said while appearing on The Spinnin Backfist MMA Show (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “Congratulations, I will absolutely entertain that idea.”
White noted that the two would not be fighting after the series, which is the custom of The Ultimate Fighter.
Nurmagomedov retired at 29-0 after a successful title defense of the UFC lightweight title over Justin Gaethje. Ferguson has lost his last four fights and is 25-7 overall including a 12-fight win streak.
White did add that the idea is entertaining to him because of one possibility.
“Hopefully, they’ll get pissed off enough at each other that they actually want to fight and I can make them fight,” White said. “I’m in. You sold me.”
