Megyn Kelly Rips Meghan Markle As A Presidential Candidate

Earlier this week, we reported that Joe Biden’s sister Valerie Biden Owens was calling on Meghan Markle to run for president as a Democrat. This came after rumors swirled for years that Markle would like to launch a career in politics. 

Now, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is firing back to slam Markle for this possible presidential run.

Kelly Sounds Off

Newsweek reported that Kelly began by saying that she thinks Markle “would love to be president one day because she appears to love the spotlight.”

“What this shows me, the fact that she might even be considering it, or might have her eye on that long term, is that she’s a dishonest, narcissistic opportunist,” Kelly continued. “Miss ‘I want privacy’ wants to run for president? Miss ‘the royal family was a racist prison’ now wants to come out and be on cam at the queen’s jubilee right? And she wants to use her royal title.”

“What she says to us publicly is not what she really feels,” she added. “What she wants is the spotlight.”

‘Has She Ever Opened A Campaign?’

Not stopping there, Kelly cited Markle’s prior career in Hollywood as an example of this, bringing up how she was a model on “Deal Or No Deal” before her 2018 marriage to Prince Harry. 

“She’s the same girl she was when she was back up girl number four for Howie Mandel when she showed us she can open suitcases very well but has she ever opened a campaign? Has she ever opened an office? Has she ever signed the front of a paycheck instead of the back of one?” Kelly said. 

“Yes, she’s a star. Yes, Trump was a star,” she said. “That doesn’t make you a president.”

Kelly concluded by saying that Trump’s career in business made him even more qualified to be president than Markle, whose only work experience is as a model and an actress.

Biden’s Sister Wants Meghan To Run For President 

This came after President Biden’s older sister formally invited Markle to join the Democratic Party. 

“It’s wonderful to have women in politics,” Owens said. “The more women we have the better our democratic system will work. We welcome her to come in and join the Democratic Party.”

When asked if Markle would make a good candidate for president, Owens replied, “Yes, perhaps. Of course, she will.”

Markle Rants Against Trump

Before marrying Harry, Markle was an outspoken Hollywood liberal who enjoyed ranting against Trump publicly during his first run for president against Hillary Clinton. 

“Yes, of course, Trump is divisive, think about female voters alone, right?” Meghan said in a 2016 interview with talk show host Larry Wilmore. “I think it was in 2012 the Republican Party lost the female vote by 12 points; that is a huge number and with as misogynistic as Trump is, and so vocal about it, that is a huge chunk of it.”

“You’re not just voting for a woman if it’s Hillary because she’s a woman, but certainly because Trump has made it easy to see that you don’t really want that kind of world that he’s painting,” she added.
