Lynda Carter Shows Off Incredible Throwback Photo!

Lynda Carter, the original superheroine, decided to bless all of us with a fantastic throwback photo.

The original Wonder Woman herself busted out a classic throwback of her own in celebration of the two-weekend music and arts festival, Coachella. The photo is pure 1970s with bell bottoms and some big hair.

And all I can say is…whew, boy!

And lest you think she is hiding all her best outfits in the closet, you’d be sorely mistaken! Look at this original Wonder Woman costume! Holy Cow!!

I wonder if she ever wears the Wonder Woman outfit around the house when she’s bored at home on a Saturday. Not going to lie. If I had an iconic costume like that, I’d probably wear it around to the grocery store just for the stares and giggles.

Lynda Carter’s Life & Career

Lynda Carter began her life in the spotlight when she was crowned Miss World USA in 1972 and finished in the top 15 of the 1972 Miss World pageant.

Following her success on the pageant circuit, Carter began a highly successful acting career. Her most iconic role, of course, was as Wonder Woman, who she played from 1975-to 1979.

Following Wonder Woman, Carter continued to make guest appearances on TV shows and starred in several hit TV movies. More recently, Carter once again entered the DC universe by playing Asteria, an ancient, powerful Amazon goddess in Wonder Woman 1984. According to reports, Lynda Carter will reprise the role of Asteria in the upcoming Wonder Woman 3.

In addition to roles on television and film, Carter has lent her voice to several massive video game franchises, including Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Rage

Carter is also an accomplished singer and songwriter. She has put out several albums, including a blues & jazz standards album, At Last, released in 2009.

What an icon.

Lynda Carter paved the way for women in television, but she also helped bring comics and superhero narratives into the mainstream. There have been a slew of comic book television shows ever since, but I don’t know if any of them hold a candle to the artistic effect of Wonder Woman. Maybe the Incredible Hulk, Batman, or, more recently, Smallville

Lynda Carter has long been one of my favorites, and I am glad to see that she is still looking as powerful and radiant as ever.
