Corey Anderson has shared the cage with many elite light heavyweights.
On Friday night at Bellator 277, Anderson gets his shot at becoming a champion.
The former UFC fighter will challenge Vadim Nemkov for the title at Bellator 277. The event airs live on Showtime.
“I’m really excited for this opportunity, I’ve been grinding,” Anderson said. “The opening round was April 14 of last year, I have been training non-stop for a year. I can’t wait to get it over with and win this belt.”
Anderson, a 32-year-old veteran of the sport, scored a first round finish of Ryan Bader last October. That came in the Bellator Light Heavyweight World Grand Prix semifinals.
And with it, a meeting with Nemkov for the GP title and championship.
Anderson joined Bellator in 2020 and has reeled off three consecutive wins. His last loss came to former UFC champion Jan Blachowicz in 2020.
“There is not a doubt in my mind that I am the best light heavyweight on the planet, there hasn’t been a doubt and I’ll show that on Friday night,” Anderson said. “I just need to be me on Friday night, I just need to do the same thing I’ve been doing and be dominant. When I win, I win. When I do what Corey Anderson does, I win the emphatically.”
