Meth + Sex Don’t Mix – Woman Arrested After Mom Finds Son’s Severed Head In Bucket

Meth can make you do some crazy things. Combine meth and an obsession with serial killers? Well, you got yourself a pretty wild story. A Wisconsin woman, Taylor Schabusiness, is now in jail and is charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Mutilating a Corpse, and 3rd Degree Sexual Assault. After finding her boyfriend’s severed head in a bucket in his mom’s basement, authorities arrested her.

Believe it or not, “severed head found in a bucket” is one of the less crazy parts of the story [1]. Let’s dive in.

Meth Smoking Leads To Body Dismemberment

Taylor Schabusiness (yes, that is her real last name) is a 24-year-old woman living in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Authorities were alerted to Schabusiness’ alleged involvement after the decapitated victim’s mother called the police. She’d just found her son’s head.

Green Bay police then went to Schabusiness’ home. When they searched her van, they found a box with “additional human body parts including legs.” She also had dried blood on her clothing.

When asked by the cops what happened, her response was … and I wish I made this up:

“That is a good question.”

According to Schabusiness, the two were spending a lovely day together smoking meth, doing other drugs, and messing around when the two decided to get a bit, um… kinky. She says Schabusiness and her boyfriend used chains. She admits she blacked out during some of the time, but then she started strangling the dude. That’s when she killed him and started cutting him apart.

According to the complaint, “Schabusiness stated she used knives that she obtained from the kitchen of the residence and that a bread knife worked the best because of the serrated blade. Schabusiness stated the knives should be in a black bag along with the body parts in the basement. Schabusiness indicated that she would use whatever bags she found in the basement to place the body parts into.

She seems fully aware of her crimes and what she did, leaving a sick message for the detectives.

“Schabusiness responded that the police were going to have fun trying to find all of the organs as she dismembered the body.”

Report: Alleged Meth Murderer Obsessed With Jeffrey Dahmer

According to the local news station covering the crime, Schabusiness is a serial killer fanatic obsessed with Jeffrey Dahmer [4].

“One of the things that I have found out from talking to different sources of mine on this case is that the suspect in this case had a very… had an infatuation almost with Jeffrey Dahmer and with Jeffrey Dahmer crimes.”

Dahmer also dismembered his victims and “played” with their bodies post-mortem. But unlike Schabusiness, he also ate his victims, wasn’t into meth, and managed not to get caught on his first go.

Apparently,  Schabusiness has planned to take all the body parts home with her but she got lazy and only took the leg with her, forgetting the head.

On True Crime Fans

Of course, the “true crime” obsessives are already on it. Some of these people are almost gleeful reading this news.

I enjoy reading about serial killers and true crime as much as anyone. I consume my fair share of podcasts and have gone on lengthy conversations about some of history’s greatest monsters.

However, I usually talk about crimes committed well into the past. Obsessing over a brutal killing as it happens seems a bit macabre.

Also, why would you have an Instagram account dedicated JUST to true crime? That’s a bit weird.

True crime has exploded in popularity over the last few years. There are varying theories about this. Mine is more along the lines that we live safe, boring lives, and true crime is a way to escape into an existence where there is at least some intrigue.
