Daily Mail reported that Meghan and her husband Prince Harry were given the award for special achievement and distinguished public service for helping a women’s shelter in Texas, promoting vaccine equity and creating relief centers in various communities.
“We would like to acknowledge the people of Ukraine who urgently need our continued support as a global community,” Harry said as they accepted the award.
“It’s safe to say I come from a very different background than my incredible wife,” he added. “Yet, our lives were brought together for a reason. We share a commitment to a life of service, a responsibility to confront injustice and a belief for the most overlooked that are the most important to listen to.”

Meghan Markle, who also brought her mom Doria Ragland to the event, said that she “couldn’t be prouder” to receive the coveted NAACP award.
Christopher John Rogers, who designed Meghan’s dress, told Vogue that she reached out to him via email last month asking if he wanted to collaborate.
“I was immediately struck by her warmth and just her overall demeanor — her sense of ease and confidence within herself,” Rogers said. “We quickly touched on this idea of a reveal. She hadn’t really stepped out like this in a while.”
“[It] is always really exciting being able to use color, and lots of different shades of the same color, to create some sort of graphicism, which is signature to me,” the designer continued. “It’s something that feels fresh and right for now.”

Meghan Markle Hit With Backlash Over NAACP Extravagance
Seeing Meghan Markle select such an extravagant wardrobe and accessories for an awards show honoring her humanitarian work in public service did not sit well with some.
Social media users were quick to call her out for flaunting such extravagance at a time of global crisis as many suffer in Ukraine.
“More like self service than public service,” one person commented on Daily Mail’s report. Another added, “Money, money, money, must be funny in the rich man’s world.”
“She could wear clothes and jewels that cost double that but, Kate could wear a t shirt and jeans and still look classier,” commented a third person, referring to Meghan’s sister-in-law Kate Middleton.

Of course, the public would do well to remember Meghan Markle’s Hollywood roots.
After all, the former “Suits” actress convinced Prince Harry to step away from his royal duties and raise their family in California.
That choice alone tells you just about everything you need to know, doesn’t it?
Given how obsessed the Hollywood elite are with Meghan and Harry, they can likely expect to receive many future awards while adorned in only the finest designer goods.
