Prince Andrew wants trial by jury

Prince Andrew filed legal papers on Wednesday in which he demanded a “trial by jury” while continuing to deny the sexual abuse claims that have been made against him by Virginia Roberts Giuffre. She is the Jeffrey Epstein accuser who alleges that she was forced to have sex with the royal multiple times as an underage 17-year-old girl.

Andrew Denies Claims – Demands Trial

Daily Mail reported that Andrew issued 41 denials to claims made against him by Giuffre in his Wednesday legal papers. And, he tellingly said another 40 times that he “lacks sufficient information to admit or deny” other allegations.

The 11-page legal filing set out a series of defenses “without assuming the burden of proof, and expressly denying any and all wrongdoing.” One of the defenses was that Giuffre’s claims should be barred due to “her own wrongful conduct” and “unclean hands.”

Andrew’s choice to move forward with this case and demand a trial directly goes against the wishes of the Royal family, who a source says are “desperate” to avoid a flashy New York trial this year amidst the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

“Andrew is on collision course with the Palace over this,” the insider said.

This comes after Queen Elizabeth “swiftly and ruthlessly” stripped Andrew of his military titles and royal patronages, forcing him to face this lawsuit as a “private citizen.”

Andrew Denies Being ‘Close Friend’ Of Ghislaine Maxwell’s

In his latest legal papers, Andrew denied being a “close friend” of Epstein’s alleged former madam Ghislaine Maxwell. Late last month, Maxwell was convicted on five out of six charges related to her allegedly grooming young girls for sex with Epstein, and sometimes participating in the abuse herself.

Andrew claimed that he met Epstein “in or around 1999,” adding that he lacks sufficient information to deny or confirm that he was photographed with Maxwell and Epstein “at numerous social events together.”

He also said that he “lacks sufficient evidence to confirm or deny” if photographic evidence of his alleged meeting with Giuffre even “exists.” Though there is a photograph that has emerged that appears to show him with both Giuffre and Maxwell, friends of the Royal’s have claimed that the image was doctored.

Andrew then claimed that he didn’t have enough information to confirm or deny if he sent emails to Maxwell saying he had “some specific questions to ask you about Virginia Roberts” back in 2015.

Calls For Case To Be Dismissed

Andrew ended these legal papers by saying that the case against him should be dismissed because Giuffre signed a legal agreement with Epstein in which she pledged to not sue. The filing also stated that her allegations against Epstein amounted to “wrongful conduct and the doctrine of unclean hands.”

“Prince Andrew hereby demands a trial by jury on all causes of action asserted in the Complaint,” the filing ended.

Giuffre fired back through her attorney David Boies, who said, “Prince Andrew’s answer continues his approach of denying any knowledge or information concerning the claims against him, and purporting to blame the victim of the abuse for somehow bringing it on herself.”

This stress is the last thing the Queen needs right now. She’s preparing to celebrate her record-breaking 70 years on the British throne with her Platinum Jubilee. While she wants her son to settle, it’s clear he wants his day in court to clear his name.

It will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out.
