Louie Anderson, a popular stand-up comedian who headlined for nearly 40 years and hosted Family Feud, has passed away at age 68 after an extended battle with blood cancer, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
In addition to his stand-up comedy and hosting career, Anderson starred in the FX comedy Baskets, where he was nominated for three Emmys, winning once. Anderson was a Las Vegas headliner for nine years as well.
He also performed on the stand-up show, This is Not Happening, telling a story about his thieving brother and his oddball family.

We are losing too many legends recently.
He had a significant small role in Coming To America.
He was a sweetheart to all those who met him.
He was also a LEGENDARY gambler.
Anderson was known for being effortless on stage. I saw him live, and it never felt like he was telling jokes, just a funny story. That is so hard to do.
I loved the show “Life with Louie” growing up. He won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program for “Life with Louie.”
It just stinks when all of your favorites from growing-up start passing on. It’s a a sure sign you’re getting old.
I’ll leave you with this one.
I’m starting to feel how my parents felt when their comedy and music idols passed on. It just stinks. There’s no better word other than stinks. With Louie, Bob, Meat Loaf, we need to take solace in their memories and how they touched our lives so dearly.
Thanks so much for the memories, fellas.
