Kelly Clarkson’s Nasty Divorce Battle Escalates – She’s Ready To Fight

Kelly Clarkson has been embroiled in a nasty divorce battle with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock since June of 2020, and the singer and talk show host is not backing down.

Clarkson Is Ready To Fight

A source told US Weekly that while it’s been a grueling year-and-a-half long divorce battle at this point, Clarkson is still ready to fight Blackstock for what she wants.

“She is devoting 100 percent of any free time she has preparing for the trial,” the source said of Clarkson, 39. “When not filming her talk show, she is hunkered down with [attorney] Laura Wasser.”

Clarkson and Blackstock were married for seven years, and had two children together during that time, before she filed for divorce in June of 2020 citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Though they were able to come to a custody agreement by November of 2020, sorting out a financial settlement has proven to be a much more complicated process, according to the insider.

‘She Will Not Entertain The Idea Of Settling’

“She will not even entertain the idea of settling with Brandon,” the source explained. “He will not get one penny from her that isn’t ordered by the judge. It’s going to be nasty.”

One particularly contentious point in their divorce battle has been their Montana ranch, which Clarkson initially wanted to sell. Blackstock, who had been a manager in the music business for years, testified that he wanted to leave that world behind and become a rancher, claiming that he needed the ranch in Montana for his business.

A judge ruled in August that Blackstock would be responsible for the monthly costs of the ranch, and if he failed to pay them, Clarkson would be allowed to sell the property.

Last month, however, Clarkson failed in her attempt to have Blackstock evicted from the ranch for not making these payments.

“He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce,” another insider said in December of 2021.

Clarkson did agree earlier this month to give Blackstock a 5.12 percent share of the Montana ranch, which equals $908,800 of its total $17,750,000 value. A trial has been scheduled for next month to decide what to do with the rest of the property.

Clarkson Says Divorce Battle Has Been ‘Horrible’

Clarkson has previously admitted to her fans that this divorce battle has been “horrible” for her.

“It’s horrible,” she said of her divorce in December of 2020, according to Yahoo! Entertainment. “There are so many hard parts. The hardest for me is the kids. I always think as women, we’re trained to take it all on and you can deal with it and you’re fine. But it’s your babies that you worry about.”

For the sake of both themselves and their young children, we can only hope that Clarkson and Blackstock are able to end this divorce war and move on with their lives very soon.

His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
