Highlights From The WWE Championship #1 Contender Match

Following Brock Lesnar's win at Day 1, WWE needed a new Number 1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship

At WWE’s First Pay-Per-View Premium Live Event,  Day 1 Brock Lesnar won the WWE title in a thrilling hard-hitting sprint of a match. WWE placed him into the match after his Universial Title match got canceled following Roman Reigns coming down with COVID

As such, we need a new Number 1 contender for the WWE title. Now, of course, you would think that would be Big E, the man who lost the title, but this is WWE and nothing is ever easy for the fans. So on RAW, we had a number one contender match fatal 4 way between Big E, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens.
And the crowd was divided.

Here’s how it went.

Bobby Lashley and Big E started with the MEAT!!!

Seth Rollins and KO evened the odds and buried Lashley (literally)

WHERE HAVE I SEEN THIS BEFORE!?

BOBBY LASHLEY WILL NOT BE STOPPED! THE LITERAL TERMINATOR

THEY TOOK IT TO THE CROWD!! CONCESSION STAND BRAWL!!!!

THAT MERCH TABLE HAS A FAMILY!

Kevin Owens has a death wish

Lashley speared everyone FOR THE WIN

Interestingly Owens took the pin, and Big E is saved. I think Big E is the favorite for the Rumble.

Results:

A pleasant surprise. They teased this a bit at Day 1, so it’ll be interesting to see where they go from here.

But this leaves another big question…Who will challenge Roman Reigns for his Universial Title once he returns from COVID? Are we getting Brock Two-Belts?

If Brock is really going to go after both belts, I think that leads up to a colossal “champ vs champ” match at Mania. Perhaps Roman loses the Universial title and has to win the Rumble to get back on top? Possibilities are endless. What a fun match and possibilities ahead!

What did you think of this match? I’m a fan of short and fast versus slow and long. Get all the action in there, you can tell a story that way without having to do a 45-minute hold-for-hold snooze fest.
