Doctor Speaks Out On Signs Of Stroke

Dr. Justin Singer, director of vascular neurosurgery at Spectrum Health, told WOOD TV that while White’s complete medical history is not known, her death serves as a reminder that getting medical attention quickly is extremely important when it comes to strokes.

“We always say time is brain,” Singer said. “It’s so important to emphasize that if something’s not right, if you’re concerned that you or a loved one is having a stroke, get into the hospital quickly and getting medical attention is so important for what happens next and for saving brain cells and hopefully maintaining functional independence.”

Singer went on to tell the public to remember the acronym “BE FAST” for strokes:

  • Balance

Stroke Indicated As Betty White’s Cause Of Death

White died on New Year’s Eve, just seventeen days short of her 100th birthday.

“It was a mild stroke,” a source told People Magazine. “She died peacefully in her sleep.”

“Betty passed in her sleep peacefully without pain,” added her longtime agent Jeff Witjas. “To me this is the most important thing and brings me comfort as her dear friend. Anything else is private to Betty.”

Days after White’s death, Witjas spoke out to clear up rumors that her passing was related to getting the COVID-19 booster shot.

“People are saying her death was related to getting a booster shot three days earlier but that is not true,” Witjas said. “She died of natural causes. Her death should not be politicized — that is not the life she lived.”

Betty White Had ‘No Fear Or Dread Of Death’

White said back in 2012 that while she had “no fear or dread of death,” she also was “happy as a lark to stay around as long as I can.”

“My mother had a wonderful approach to death,” White said at the time. “She always thought of it as — she said, ‘We know we have managed to find out almost anything that exists, but nobody knows … what happens at that moment when it’s over.’ ”

“And she said, ‘It’s the one secret that we don’t know.’ So whenever we would lose somebody very close and very dear, she would always say, ‘Well, now he knows the secret,'” she added. “And it took the curse off of it somehow.”

Betty White was an incredible woman who brought joy to millions of fans with her work, which will live on long after her passing.

Her death could save a life if it helps to get the word out. Be sure to share Dr. Singer’s important message with your friends and family so everyone knows to BE FAST!
