Valentin Moldavsky knows who he is going up against Saturday at Bellator 273.
Moldavsky, the interim heavyweight champion, will meet Ryan Bader in the main event on Showtime to unify the belts.
For Moldavsky, he will be looking to secure a quick finish instead of going the distance with Bader.
“It’s a bad idea to fight with Bader for all five rounds,” Moldavsky said. “It would be better if I finish him in maybe the second round. He has not lost a fight to a decision. He always wins a decision. I must beat him early, not five rounds.”
In June, Moldavsky secured the interim heavyweight title with a decision over Timothy Johnson. He is 11-1 overall and on a six-fight win streak, with all six coming under the Bellator banner.
“It’s not personal. MMA is a sport. Bader is a good guy. He is aggressive,” Moldavsky said. “I hope it is a KO or TKO in the first or second round. If needed, I am ready to fight all five rounds.”
The Showtime main card will also feature Benson Henderson taking on Islam Mamedov, Henry Corrales battling Aiden Lee and Sabah Homasi meeting Jaleel Willis.
