Miz

It is hard to think of two more disparate wrestlers on the roster than Edge and the Miz. While both have played heels and backstabbers in the past, the way the two go about it is entirely different. Miz is a grinning bad guy who everyone wants to see popped right in the jaw. Edge is the “ultimate opportunist” who can turn into the most arch-villain wrestling has ever seen.

So last night when the two came together in the ring, naturally I was a bit excited. The two of them BROUGHT IT, and their in-ring segment has the whole Internet talking.

So why are Miz and Edge feuding, and what does it mean for the next few months of wrestling? Let’s dive in, shall we?

Part-timer vs. Part-timer

Miz and Edge both don’t work a full WWE schedule. Nor do they need to. I like it when they put part-timers together because it adds a bit of a surprise to who is going to win the feud and adds speculation about what could happen next.

There are plenty of up-and-coming talents they could both work with, but seeing these two together after all this time is a treat for new and long-time fans alike.

Many people are comparing this to the MJF vs. CM Punk “Best 20 minutes” from last week. MJF and Punk traded the same tired barbs everyone has heard about both of them while Edge and Miz made it personal. It’s no comparison, Edge and Miz > Punk, and MJF by a mile.

Road To Wrestlemania?

As we gear up towards the Royal Rumble, it is time to start planting the seeds for WrestleMania. I’m not sure if this is a filler feud or one that will make its way through to WrestleMania.

However, considering Maryse made the return as well, it could be possible another former Diva could be making a return. Edge’s wife, Beth Phoenix.

Phoenix, currently a commentator on NXT, has made hints here and there about an in-ring return. It wouldn’t surprise me if she returned to fight alongside her husband to help even the odds.

Plus, it would give Maryse someone competent to work with and provide fans of the Glamazon a chance to see an in-ring favorite return.

Miz Vs. Edge: We’re In For A Treat

Regardless of what happens between Edge and Miz, I know it will be enjoyable. They’re two of the best on the mic ever and if last night’s profoundly personal promo battle was a taste for the future, expect a feud that won’t pull any punches.
