UFC Honors Max Holloway With Forrest Griffin Award

Max Holloway returns to the Octagon this weekend. But he has already picked up a win.

Holloway, a former UFC champion, was named the 2021 Forrest Griffin Community Award winner.

Named for UFC Hall of Famer Forrest Griffin, the award goes to a UFC athlete for their exceptional volunteer and charity work. Along with the meaningful impact their efforts have on the community.

As the 2021 recipient of the Forrest Griffin Community Award, Holloway will receive a $25,000 donation to the charity of his choice. All donations are courtesy of Toyo Tires.

Holloway will be honored during the 2022 UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. That will be held during UFC International Fight Week.

“Max is not only an amazing athlete, but he’s also a great role model who enjoys giving back to his community,” UFC President Dana White said. “Max does a great job of setting a positive example of how athletes can use their platforms to raise awareness for charities, while helping those who are less fortunate. It’s an honor to present him with this award.”

In 2020, Max traveled throughout the United States to visit to military bases, children’s hospitals, and meet one-on-one with terminally ill children. He also partnered with UFC in February to visit Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, the only pediatric children’s hospital in the state of Nevada. During his visit, Holloway provided toys and raised the spirits of the children battling various forms of cancer.
