Lori Loughlin’s Daughters Defend Their Mother, Noting How Horrible The ‘Hatred’ Was

Actress Lori Loughlin’s two daughters Isabella “Bella” and Olivia Jade Giannulli spoke out to defend their mom last week.

Bella, 23, appeared as a guest on her sister’s Conversations With Olivia Jade podcast, and the two girls quickly used the appearance to stand by their mother.

Loughlin and her husband were found guilty on charges related to them paying $500,000 to have their daughters admitted to the University of Southern California as members of the crew team, even though neither girl had ever rowed before. Loughlin spent two months in prison, while Giannulli was locked up for five months for this crime.

Loughlin’s Daughters Defend Her

“We both have a really clear perspective … we can just say we’re in the wrong,” began Olivia Jade, 22. “I don’t want that generic kind of topic to be twisted that I’m sitting here asking about mental health and what we went through the last few years and people saying, ‘Are they seriously complaining about this?'”

“It’s not complaining,” Bella added. “You have to take what you’ve been through and learn from that. That’s what talking about it and working through it does.”

Bella’s Experience

Olivia Jade then asked Bella what this experience was like for her, given the fact that the media “heavily focused on mom and I.”

“What were you kind of feeling during that time? Did you almost feel like your experience was undermined or were yo happy to be out of the public eye,” Olivia asked, referring to the “hatred” she and Loughlin received.

“I think just the hardest part of this entire thing was watching how horrible, or reading or seeing, how horrible the media was to both you and mom. And actually knowing you guys and knowing mom has the biggest heart,” Bella replied. “I don’t think one person who’s ever worked with mom can say something bad about her because she’s genuinely the nicest person alive.”

Olivia Jade Finds Media To Be ‘Extremely Hypocritical’

“I think that was hard for me too,” Olivia Jade said in agreement. “I’m not trying to justify or excuse behavior or throw a pity party. … I do very heavily relate to those feelings that you were just saying about mom. I think for me, even though I also was getting dragged negatively, it didn’t nearly affect me as much as seeing mom getting … she really took this whole thing on her back solely.”

“There are a lot of people that were in this case and a lot of other parents and I don’t know one other person’s name,” she continued.

Olivia Jade concluded by saying that while she’ll “drag” and “roast myself and I won’t forgive myself forever probably,” she finds the press to be “extremely hypocritical” for the way they treated her mother.

While Loughlin has done her time legally, the public seems to still be against her when it comes to the college admissions scandal. It remains to be seen if she will ever be fully forgiven.

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
