Fans were both shocked and saddened last summer when original hosts Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron were abruptly fired from “Dancing With The Stars” and replaced by supermodel Tyra Banks. Now, Andrews is sharing why she sees being fired from the ABC reality show as a blessing in disguise.

‘I Think It Was The Best Thing For Me’

“I give my best to them. My schedule has been so crazy with [football commentating], the clothing line, the podcasts … trying to have a baby, that I think it was the best thing for me,” Andrews, 43, told US Weekly. “They wanted to go a different direction, and they’re doing that now. So, hopefully they’re happy.”

While she no longer watches “Dancing With The Stars,” Andrews is still close friends with Bergeron.

“Tom and I will always be attached to the hip and super, super close as well,” she explained. “I love him so much. He’s one of the best, very fun [people] to have a couple of cocktails with — kind of an afternoon situation.”

Tom Bergeron Talks To Erin Andrews ‘Quite Often’

Bergeron told Fox News earlier this year that he was in touch with Andrews “quite often” during the pandemic.

“She’s a good friend, and that’s one of the lasting friendships I’ll take from that experience,” he said back in May. When asked if he would ever team up with Andrews again on another project, Bergeron added, “you never say never.”

“There’s nothing on the screen right now for that, but I would certainly be open to considering it in the future,” he said. “We just get along really well. We have similar senses of humor. I never like to close the door on anything.”

Bergeron has also been open about his firing as of late, saying recently that he could feel things changing behind the scenes before he was let go.

“In all candor, the show that I left was not the show that I loved,” he explained. “So, the end of the season that turned out to be my last season [in 2019], I kind of knew. So I took everything out of my dressing room that I really wanted … It was kind of obvious that we were kind of butting heads.”

Erin Andrews & Tom Bergeron Put ‘Dancing With The Stars’ In Their Rearview

That being said, like his co-host Andrews, Bergeron is not dwelling in the past.

“It’s pretty far in the rearview mirror for me,” he said. “I’m on to other stuff.”

While many fans still dearly miss Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron on “Dancing With The Stars” every week, it’s nice to know they are both happy and thriving.
