UFC president Dana White has made it known how he feels about Kamaru Usman.

Following Usman’s successful title defense, White has declared him the greatest welterweight ever.

White didn’t stop there.

“I’m telling you this guy is very special, he’s damn good,” White said (thanks to MMA Fighting for the quotes). “I think he’s the greatest welterweight ever. He’s obviously the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world right now.

“He’s one of the guys that we can already start arguing soon about GOAT status.”

Usman scored a second win over rival Colby Covington. The bout headlined an event from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

“He’s fighting everybody,” White said. “It’s not like he’s only fought this guy, he didn’t fight – he’s found everybody.

“He’s starting to come back the second time around now and beat guys. Look at the competition he’s facing; it’s all really bad dudes. It’s very impressive.”

Since joining the UFC, Usman is a perfect 15-0. With one more win, he’ll tie Anderson Silva for the longest streak of victories in promotion history.

Do you agree with White? Is Usman already the best welterweight? Even better than Georges St-Pierre?
