Candace Cameron Bure may be known for starring in wholesome Hallmark Channel movies, but she’s the first person to admit that her family’s Christmas plans are “the antithesis” of something that would be depicted on that network.
45-year-old Cameron Bure is currently promoting her upcoming Hallmark Channel Christmas movie The Christmas Contest.

Candace Cameron Bure’s Family Christmas Plans
“I’m super excited that we’re all going to be together,” Cameron Bure, 45, told US Weekly of her family’s holiday plans. “My son in college is coming home for a couple of weeks and my son that lives up north is coming home.”
“But then we’re actually going on a trip together, the five of us, and we are doing the antithesis of a Hallmark movie,” she added. “We are going to the beach. So we’re going to just spend a little time in Miami and enjoy some sunshine and the ocean spray. I can’t wait.”
Candace Cameron Bure and her husband, former professional hockey player Valeri Bure, are the parents of three children: Natasha, 23, Lev, 21, and Maksim, 19.
Last year, the “Fuller House” star posted a sweet family Christmas photo that seemed to bring out the worst in commenters. Well, those “haters” brought out the mama bear in Cameron Bure!

Her Hallmark Work Is More Than Christmas Movies
In this same interview, Cameron Bure talked about the work she’s done with Hallmark over the years.
“All the Hallmark movies I done in the last 10 years, I’ve produced and executive produced as well. So that chemistry [between characters], that casting is very important to me,” she explained.
“I definitely said no to certain people that have been presented [to me] because if I just don’t feel like there’s going to be this connection, then obviously it’s not going to work for the audience,” Cameron Bure added.

Candace Cameron Bure’s New Hallmark Movie: The Christmas Contest
Cameron Bure also talked about what it was like to bring a story like The Christmas Contest to life for Hallmark.
“It’s fun to be on the producing side of it. But even more than casting, there’s so many elements that happened to make these Christmas movies as good as they are,” she stated. “I like being able to put all of those pieces together and I feel like my fans that watch these movies, they expect a really great Christmas movie. I always hope to produce that every year for them.”
Candace Cameron Bure has long been known as one of the few openly Christian conservative actresses in Hollywood, and her wholesome content always ends up being something that the entire family can enjoy together.
You can check out her newest movie, The Christmas Contest, when it debuts on the Hallmark Channel on November 28!
