Cris Cyborg

Cris Cyborg had no troubles at Bellator 271, defending her title.

Cyborg bested Sinead Kavanagh in the main event Friday night live on Showtime. She improved her record to 25-2 overall with the finish.

“I didn’t do anything we planned,” Cyborg said. “You never know. I had a feeling about the fight. I feel great. I am happy with the win.

“I knew she was more of a striker, so I went to the ground game. The right hand did it fast and was the key. I was very excited for the count.”

After the fight, Cyborg was asked about a potential 2022 meeting with Kayla Harrison. The Olympic gold medalist recently claimed her second PFL title.

“I really appreciate Kayla Harrison coming to the fight,” Cyborg said. “If she wants to fight me one day, that would be great.”

In the co-main event, Linton Vassell bested Tyrell Fortune via split decision. Aaron Pico also picked up a win on the main card.
