Earlier this week, we reported that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had tested positive for COVID-19, and it came to light that had not gotten the COVID-19 vaccine. Now, Aaron Rodgers has broken his silence to slam cancel culture and “set the record straight” about being “immunized” and his COVID-19 vaccine decision.
Backstory: Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers Tests Positive For COVID
Aaron Rodgers went on the Pat McAfee show to tell his “side of the story” related to mania over his vaccination status.
The MVP quarterback kicked things off by describing himself as “in the crosshairs of the woke mob right now.”

He quipped, “So, before my final nail gets put in my cancel culture casket, I’d like to set the record straight on so many of the blatant lies out there about myself right now.”
Rodgers says he did not “lie.” He thought carefully about how to address vaccination given the “witchhunt” going on within the NFL at the time.
The league MVP decided to state he was “immunized,” which he says was “the truth.” He also claims he would have shared more detail if questioned further.
He fully believed that his “immunization protocol” was best to protect himself and his team. Rodgers says the NFL was “fully aware” of his status upon his return to the Packers as he had to petition for them to accept his vaccination status.
“I am not a COVID-denier or any (expletive) like that,” Rodgers said. “I just wanted to make the best choice for my body.”
Rodgers wants everyone to know that he is not “anti-vaxx” or some sort of “flat-earther.”
“I am somebody who’s a critical thinker,” Rodgers explained, according to USA Today. “I believe strongly in bodily autonomy and the ability to make choices for your body.”
As an elite athlete he is not going to “acquiesce to some sort of woke culture” and does not believe “health is a one size fits all.”
He says he put a lot of time and study into vaccination in the off season like he would approach anything else – whether it be hosting “Jeopardy!” or playing football.
Rodgers claimed that after doing tons of research and speaking to many medical professionals about the vaccines, he found that he was allergic to an ingredient in both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, which is why he sought alternative treatment.
“For me it involved a lot of studying in the offseason,” Rodgers said. “I put a lot of time and energy into researching and met with a lot of different people in the medical field to get the most information about the vaccines before making a decision. The specific protocol, I am going to keep between me and my doctors.”
Rodgers noted the CDC website says not to get vaccinated if you have an allergy to any of the mRNA vaccine ingredients.
He also pointed out, “I tested for COVID over 300 times before testing for possible positive and I probably got it from a vaccinated player.”
“I have followed every single protocol to a T, except that one that makes absolutely no sense to me,” he continued. “The great MLK said, ‘You have a moral obligation to object to unjust rules and rules that make no sense.'”
Rodgers concluded by saying that he is excited for his backup Jordan Love to play against the Chiefs and has talked to him concerning Sunday’s game.
“I feel really good and if this was the flu, I would be playing on Sunday. I hope that we can take a step back, quit lying, quit with the witch hunt and the canceling, and realize this is a conversation to be had, not a controversy, and let’s move this forward with some love and connection,” he said.
The left has been out to “cancel” Aaron Rodgers ever since it was revealed that he never got the COVID-19 vaccine. Will they get their way? Let’s hope not.
