Prince William Takes A Swipe At Billionaires And Their Space Tourism Race

Prince William sent a brutal message to billionaires embroiled in space race, telling them to stop and focus on saving Earth.

On Thursday, Prince William took what appeared to be a shot at the billionaire space race, saying that the most brilliant minds on the planet should be focused on saving the Earth rather than heading to space.

Prince William Sounds Off

In an interview with the BBC, Prince William warned of a “rise in climate anxiety” among young people around the world whose “futures are basically threatened” by the alleged climate crisis.

“It’s very unnerving and it’s very, you know, anxiety making,” he said.

“We need some of the world’s greatest brains and minds fixed on trying to repair this planet, not trying to find the next place to go and live,” William continued. “I think that ultimately is what sold it for me – that really is quite crucial to be focusing on this [planet] rather than giving up and heading out into space to try and think of solutions for the future.”

You can hear him right here:

Billionaire Space Race

This came one day after former “Star Trek” star William Shatner became the oldest person to ever go to space at 90 years of age.

He made the journey on the Blue Origin sub-orbital capsule developed by billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Meanwhile, billionaires Sir Richard Branson and Elon Musk are busily building space businesses as well.

In July, Branson rode into space in a supersonic plane developed by his company, Virgin Galactic. And, Musk, who founded SpaceX took four tourists on a three-day orbital mission in September.

In his interview, William said that he has “absolutely no interest” in going as high as space, going on to add that there was a “fundamental question” over the carbon cost of space flights.

Urging viewers to channel their childhood, the royal called on people to “remember how much it meant to be outdoors and what we’re robbing those future generations of.”

Prince William then said that his father Prince Charles had a “rough ride” when warning about climate change, saying, “It’s been a hard road for him.”

Charles, inspired by his own father Prince Philip, “talked about climate change a lot more, very early on, before anyone else thought it was a topic.”

William Brings Up Prince George

The Duke of Cambridge also said that “it would be an absolute disaster if [Prince] George is sat here talking” about saving the planet in 30 year’s time. George is currently seven years old, and is destined to be king someday.

William’s brother Prince Harry also loves lecturing the world about climate change despite the fact that he is constantly traveling the world with his “woke” wife Meghan Markle on private jets.

If Prince William really wants to save the world from climate change, perhaps he should start with his own brother first before getting up on his soapbox and lecturing the rest of us.
