Jon Jones Defends Self, Says ‘I Never Hit My Fiance’

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is coming to his own defense.

Jones, who has been in the spotlight in recent weeks for an altercation in Las Vegas, spoke out on social media Wednesday. It has also been reported that Jones has been suspended from training at Jackson-Wink in New Mexico.

Following the UFC Hall of Fame ceremony, Jones was arrested on domestic violence charges. He was reported to have struck his wife in front of their children.

That, according to Jones, is false.

“I love how people are imagining the worst possible situation in their heads and making it somehow factual,” Jones wrote. “I never hit my fiance and our daughters were woken up after our confrontation. My daughters didn’t see or hear us arguing.

“That’s really the only think I care to clarify. Outside of that, looking forward to moving forward without alcohol. It’s the first time in my life where I’m actually ready to quit. Glad to have the support of my fiance, family friends and fans.”

Reports indicate that Jessie Moses, the long-time fiance of Jones, went to security at the Las Vegas Caesar’s Palace asking for a new room key. Guards noticed blood on her face and clothing, and one of the daughters asked for the police to be called.

Jones was picked up a short while later outside of the casino when he, according to reports, became “irate and smashed his head into the front hood of the patrol vehicle.” He was charged with injuring or disabling a vehicle, a felony in Las Vegas.
