Renee Paquette Reveals More About Her Future In Pro Wrestling

Former WWE commentator Renee Paquette recently gave an update on her future in the pro wrestling industry. And it appears that Renee does not rule out anything at this time.

According to Renee, her non-compete clause will be ending soon. Therefore, we should expect more clarity about Renee Paquette’s pro wrestling future shortly after that has expired.

Renee said as much in a recent interview.

“My non-compete with WWE is nearly up.” She said “I don’t ever want to separate myself from professional wrestling. I know that’s where my fanbase comes from; I know that’s essentially going to always be my bread and butter — and I love that. I love professional wrestling, so I’m not looking to ‘get away’ from it by any stretch.”

During her interview, Renee did mention AEW. However, she admits that nothing concrete is in place.

“Looking at AEW, I think there are endless opportunities of other things I could be doing over there, if that was to be something that came up down the line,” she continued, “I’ve honestly not put much thought into it. That’s interesting to be like, ‘Oh, wait! I can do wrestling things again!'”

So there you have it. Renee is far from done with the pro wrestling industry.

Why Renee Paquette Left WWE

Renee has spoken extensively about her motivation for leaving her motivation for leaving the WWE. In her recent interview, she continued to explain the reasons why she decided to leave.

According to Renee, a lot of things happened at once for her. She also hinted at feeling stuck in the company, more specifically not moving forward with her career.

It was all that stuff happening at once and just being like, ‘What am I doing here? I’ve checked off all the things I’ve been able to do.’ Stepping away from commentary ultimately left kind of a bad taste in my mouth,” she continued. “So going to working for FOX was incredible, and I’ll still be doing stuff for FOX as we’re kind of figuring out what that looks like with WWE and FOX. But I’ll still be working with them on that side of things, so that’s cool. Just not really having any platforms with WWE and spinning my wheels, I’m turning 35. It’s kind of s— or get off the boat. It’s time to start making some other moves. Otherwise, I’m just going to stay here forever and not really be proud of my accomplishments anymore.”

Paquette never admitted that her husband working for rival promotion AEW factored in her decision. However, many believe that it could have been a contributing factor.

With Renee’s no-compete clause ending, the rumors about her working for AEW are certainly rampant. And she could be a major asset to the company.

Moxley is quite the prominent figure in AEW, and Renee could get involved in some of those storylines. Of course, it remains to be seen where Renee’s heart lies.

There is certainly a spot for Renee at AEW, and she could play a major role in the women’s division going forward.
