Candace Cameron Bure Apologizes After Being Slammed For ‘Seductive’ Holy Spirit Video

Candace Cameron Bure, an actress known for being one of the most devoutly Christian stars in Hollywood, issued an apology for posting a video of her holding a Bible which fans fans dubbed too “sexy” and “seductive.”

Cameron Bure’s Controversial Video

It all started on Wednesday, when Cameron Bure, 45, shared a video to TikTok and Instagram in which she lip-synced to the song “Jealous Girl” by Lana Del Rey. 

“Baby, I’m a gangster too and it takes two to tango/You don’t wanna’ dance with me, dance with me,” Cameron Bure can be seen mouthing as she picks up her Bible and holds it to her chest while leaning in with a smirk on her face.

“When they don’t know the power of the Holy Spirit,” the former “Fuller House” star captioned the video.

After receiving tons of backlash for the video on Instagram, Cameron Bure took to her Instagram Story that night to issue an apology.

She has since deleted the video from Instagram, though it remains up on her TikTok at this time.

Cameron Bure’s Apology

“I just came home and read a lot of messages that were not happy with my latest Instagram post that was a TikTok video,” Cameron Bure said, according to Fox News.

“And I usually don’t apologize for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird, and I’m sorry. That was not my intention,” she added. “I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and applying it to the power of the Holy Spirit, which is incredible.”

Cameron Bure went on to say that she was stunned by seeing how many offended fans thought the video was “seductive.” She claims that’s not what she was going for at all here.

“And so many of you thought that I was trying to be seductive, which clearly means I’m not a very good actress because I was trying to be strong, not sexy or seductive,” she said. “So I guess that didn’t work, but I deleted it.”

‘Maybe I Was Just Trying To Be Too Cool’

Cameron Bure then said that she had been inspired by a similar video that her 20-year-old daughter Natasha made in which the young woman highlighted her own strength.

“Maybe I was just trying to be too cool or relevant in a Biblical way that didn’t work,” the mother of three concluded.

“Anyway, most of you didn’t like it, clearly, but there was a small percentage of you that appreciated what I did and understood my intention. But anyway, it’s gone. Now I know what you don’t like.”

Over the past year, Cameron Bure has garnered a reputation for clapping back at her social media haters. It’s somewhat surprising that she decided to apologize this time around.

Perhaps this just goes to show that Cameron Bure is someone who stands by her actions when she feels she’s in the right, but also apologizes when she feels that she’s in the wrong.
