When WWE signed Shaul Guerrero, they were worried about her tarnishing the last name. Also, Tammy “Sunny” Sytch is no longer in jail.

WWE Worried Over Guerrero Name

In 2005, the world lost Eddie Guerrero. He had recently turned 38 years old and was in the prime of his career.

15 years later and fans still remember Eddie. At one point, WWE brought his daughter Shaul Guerrero into the company.

She was assigned to FCW, which was WWE’s developmental territory at the time. She wrestled for about four years before parting ways.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Shaul revealed new details about her run. Apparently, WWE did not let her use the Guerrero name because they had to see how she performed.

Basically, WWE felt her using the last name and not becoming a star would tarnish the last name.

“I remember being told, I’m not going to say by who, but if you sucked, then we can’t drag your family’s name in the mud,” said Shaul. “And, I’m like [puts on very shocked face].”

“I understood that. Again, it’s like they never said I had to be as good as my dad.”

“There was always little things like that which are hard to ignore. That was day one.”

Shaul Guerrero – WWE Backstory

In the end, Shaul and WWE simply did not work out. There are conflicting stories on what ended her four year run.

Initially, she was granted a release in September 2012. Reports stated that she took a leave of absence because of school.

Then, she returned in 2014 for a short time. Again, she left and this time Shaul chalked it up to an eating disorder.

Since then, she has not done much in the pro wrestling world. Saul appeared briefly for Lucha Underground and served as a ring announcer for AEW’s Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament.

During that time, she did get married. Her husband is none other than former WWE superstar Aiden English.

Currently, she dabbles in several activities. They include dancing, singing and modeling.

Sometimes, you cannot top near perfection. As great as Shaul could have been, being better than Eddie seems almost impossible.

After about a year, Tammy “Sunny” Sytch is no longer behind bars. She was released within the past few days after being incarcerated at Monmouth County Correctional Institution in New Jersey.

Per PWInsider, she was released because of a court order. There is no word on what, if any, stipulations were attached to her being let out.

Sadly, the WWE Hall of Famer has been in trouble with the law before. She has been incarcerated before on a slew of charges.

In July 2020, she was arrested on a stack of charges. They included Eluding Police Officer, Contempt/Violate Domestic Violence Restraining Order, Operating Motor Vehicle During Second License Suspension and Contempt/Violate Domestic Violence Restraining Order.

Sunny has publicly battled addiction. Hopefully, she can beat those demons and live a better life.
