Royal biographer Omid Scobie, who is close friends with Meghan Markle, is speaking out this week to claim that the royal family had “several” conversations about her son Archie’s skin color before he was born.
Meghan claimed in her interview with Oprah Winfrey in March that someone in the Royal family was concerned about what Archie’s skin color would be during her pregnancy with him.

“There was one conversation that took place that affected them massively, when it came to someone within the royal family sharing concerns over the color of Archie’s skin,” said Scobie. He and
“To Harry I can see how it is one conversation, to Meghan who would have been involved in the follow up conversations I can see – because there were other people aware of this conversation within the family and within the institution, that did also speak about it, some not so sympathetically,” Scobie added, according to Daily Mail. “So you then are in a position where you start to feel well its not just this one person, it’s others as well and it becomes a much bigger issue.”

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote the book “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family,” that was released in August 2020. He is a writer based in London , and is also the royal editor for Harper’s Bazaar, a regular on “Good Morning America,” an ABC News contributor, as well as the host of ABC’s popular royal podcast, “The Heir Pod.”

Scobie Won’t Reveal Identity Of ‘Racist’ Royal
When asked if he knew the person within the Royal family who initially made the comment about Archie’s skin color, Scobie would only say “pass,” adding that he only had one source and would not reveal the person because he had not verified it with others.
He went on to say that it was a story for Meghan and her husband Prince Harry to reveal if or when they choose to do so.
“And at the time, the biggest conversation was ‘did this come from a senior member of the royal family, a future head of state?'” Scobie said cryptically.
“If that individual is a head of state, then we as a public have a right to know because of course that is someone that is our head of state, head of the Commonwealth. And if they have an issue with race, we should know,” he continued.
After Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince William spoke out to claim that his family is not racist.

Scobie Attacks Royals
“Other individuals within the institution didn’t express the kind of understanding that should have been given,” Scobie said. “Even when William said we are not a racist family, they didn’t condemn racism in any form whatsoever. We do not see the royal family ever do that.”
“So of course it then continues this conversation about how anti-racism is the royal family, how much does the Royal Institution own its history and perhaps any kind of unconscious bias that may exist within the establishment or the family,” Omid Scobie continued. “None of these things ever seem to be addressed.”
Meghan and Harry have become major thorns in the sides of the Royal family over the past few months, as they have regularly spoken out against them.
It remains to be seen if they will ever identify the person in the family who they claim talked about Archie’s skin color before his birth.
