Days after Meghan Markle gave birth to her second child, a baby girl that she and her husband Prince Harry named Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, a relative of the Duchess is speaking out to discuss the divide within their family.
Meghan’s Relative Sounds Off
Though Meghan now lives on the same coast as many of her family members, one relative who wished to remain unnamed balked at the idea of other children in the family getting to have playdates with Lili and her older brother Archie.
“Yeah, right after I set up a play date with Oprah Winfrey’s family, too?” the family source sarcastically told Fox News. “We’re clearly in different social classes and we won’t ever talk again.”
The source went on to say that Meghan has made it abundantly clear that she now sees herself as above her family and where she came from.
“Real quality family is what’s important to me,” the relative went on to explain. “You shouldn’t have to be someone you’re not, or a certain class to be accepted and loved.”

Relative Says This Was ‘Her Choice’
The family insider then said that Meghan’s estrangement from the rest of the family is “her choice.”
The relative said that they also had no plans to reach out to Meghan because they do not think she would ever respond or want to reunite anyway.
“I’m not chasing after someone that doesn’t want to talk to me,” the relative said. “I have my own family and we couldn’t be happier sharing the love that we have. So in other words, I couldn’t care less.”
Despite everything that has happened, the relative has no animosity towards Meghan and wishes her and her family well.
“I’m happy for them,” the relative said Meghan and Harry’s little family. “Starting a family is the most rewarding thing and I wish them the best.”

Meghan’s Estrangement From Her Family
Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland appears to be the only person in her family with whom she’s in touch. It’s well known that she is estranged from her father Thomas Markle and his side of the family.
In fact, Meghan has not spoken to Thomas since before her marriage to Harry. He did make a statement after the birth of Lili last Friday.
“I am very pleased with the announcement of the safe and healthy delivery of my new granddaughter, and I wish her and her mother all my love and best wishes,” Thomas said in a statement obtained by Daily Mail.
In her tell-all interview with Oprah in March, Meghan claimed that she felt her father “betrayed” her by cooperating with the paparazzi before her wedding. And, she admitted that she “found it hard to reconcile” with him.
“I look at Archie, I think about this child, and I genuinely can’t imagine doing anything to intentionally cause pain to my child,” she said.
It’s sad that it seems like Meghan will likely never reconcile with her family nor Harry’s. Or at least it seems she doesn’t seem to have any interest in doing so anyway.
Regardless of what you think of Meghan, it’s never fun to see a family fall apart.
