2. Dating After Retirement
One of the best-known backstage stories surrounding Beth Phoenix is that she is married to Edge. However, not everyone realizes that Beth and Edge did not start dating until after their retired.
Both Beth and Edge dated other people during their active wrestling career. However, it was not until they retired that they started dating each other.
Beth and Edge started dating in 2011 and their daughter Lyric was born in 2013. Their second daughter was born in May 2016.

There are many women who would love to have a match with Beth Phoenix. However, one of the more iconic ones at the moment is none other than Charlotte Flair.
While promoting a show, Charlotte revealed Beth Phoenix is one of her dream opponents. Since Beth retired in her prime, it is something that could happen in the future.

Before marrying Edge, Beth Phoenix dated several other wrestlers. One of these wrestlers was CM Punk.
Things between CM Punk and Beth Phoenix seemed to end rather poorly. Later on, CM Punk said the following in an interview, of which fans believed was about Beth Phoenix.
“It pisses me off to watch people you love and admire become complete d*****bags. That’s what it is. People just flake.”
Despite the statement, Beth Phoenix has never really retaliated against CM Punk. That shows some real class.
7. Chyna And Beth Phoenix
Beth Phoenix was only the second woman in history to enter an all men’s match. Needless to say, this brought Phoenix incredible recognition and fame.

9. The Match That Never Was
During his time as a WWE writer, Freddie Prinze Jr. saw a lot of future storylines. This also included a storyline between Awesome Kong and Beth Phoenix.
Awesome Kong was supposed to end the championship reign of Michelle McCool. This was going to catapult her as a dominant heel champion.
After some time, Beth Phoenix was meant to dethrone Awesome Kong. Unfortunately, the storyline never happened.
Freddie Prinze Jr. claimed that Michelle McCool was not too fond of the idea. In the end, the storyline was axed and the match between Awesome Kong and Phoenix never happened.
10. The Spear
When Edge made his surprise appearance at SummerSlam 2019, he ended up spearing Elias. Interestingly enough, Beth Phoenix had no idea this was going to happen.
Edge retired years earlier with serious neck problems. So, when Beth Phoenix was caught on camera backstage, her surprise was just as big as everyone else.
The appearance in 2019 eventually led to Edge’s permanent return to pro wrestling. Of course, it also showed just how much of a secret the WWE kept the spear within its own ranks.
