The common denominator around PFL 1 was upsets as in Anthony Pettis, Lance Palmer and Natan Schulte all came out on the losing end of fights.

But with the unique format of a regular season to determine who advances to the tournament, nothing is over for those three fighters.

And that remains the same going into Thursday night’s PFL 2 event live on ESPN2 and ESPN+.

The card will feature the start of the welterweight and light heavyweight seasons highlighted by the promotional debut of Rory MacDonald. The former UFC title challenger and Bellator champion meets Curtis Millender in the main event after David Michaud was forced out.

MacDonald is the biggest name on this card with Ray Cooper III meeting Jason Ponet in the co-main event.

The third main card welterweight bout sees Gleison Tibau face off against Joao Zeferino with the night opening by Emiliano Sordi battling Chris Camozzi in the light heavyweight division.

Other 205-pound bouts include Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Tom Lawlor, Vinny Magalhaes vs. Jordan Young, Cezar Ferreira vs. Nick Roehrick and Dan Spohn vs. Marthin Hamlet around a welterweight bout between Sadibou Sy and Nikolay Aleksakhin.

Will the “favorites” thrive? Will MacDonald set the tone?

Tune in and find out.
