Ray Lewis

Add another big-time name to the Professional Fighters League roster as the promotion has signed Ray Lewis to the newly-formed Athlete Advisory Board.

Lewis, a member of the NFL Hall of Fame, was as dominant player at his position of all-time. He helped the Baltimore Ravens win two Super Bowl titles before retiring.

In his new role with the PFL, Lewis will work to advance the sport of MMA on a global level. He will also be looking to identify and recruit talent as well as further evolve the PFL’s fighter-first culture and mission.

“MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world, and I was drawn to PFL because of its unique season format that is a true meritocracy where each competitor controls their own destiny, no different than in the NFL,” said Lewis. “Having spent my entire career as a professional athlete and around other professional athletes, I can’t emphasize enough how critical it is to establish an athlete-focused culture in order to be successful. I truly believe in PFL’s long-term vision and look forward to partnering with CEO Peter Murray and the Athlete Advisory Board.”

The PFL’s Athlete Advisory Board will be comprised of sports icons, champions from MMA and stars from other major sports. Plans are to announce other members in the coming months.

“I am excited to welcome pro football Hall of Famer and two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Lewis to the PFL’s Athlete Advisory Board,” said PFL CEO, Peter Murray. “Ray’s leadership and advocacy for athletes combined with Randy Couture’s legacy and commitment to MMA will ensure the PFL stays true to its fighter-first philosophy and advances the sport.”

PFL 1 for the 2021 season is set for April 23 with Anthony Pettis vs. Clay Collard in the main event live on ESPN2, ESPN+ and other premium networks available in 160 countries.
