Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum is set to make his debut with the Professional Fighters League in May.
Werdum will face Renan Ferreira in the main event of PFL 3 live on ESPN2. The bout is part of the heavyweight regular season that will culminate with the winner earning $1 million.
Along with Werdum vs. Ferreira, Kayla Harrison returns to the PFL cage. Harrison, a two-time Olympic gold medalist who is unbeaten in her MMA career, faces Mariana Morais in the lightweight regular season.
“PFL 3 is setting itself up to be a spectacular event for fans and fighters,” said PFL CEO, Peter Murray. “The matchups showcase superior talent, and we can’t wait to watch it all unfold come May 6 on ESPN and ESPN+. Ali Isaev, the defending heavyweight champion, meets Hatef Moeil in another featured bout along with Genah Fabian taking on Laura Sanchez.

The 2021 PFL season begins on April 23 and continues through June.
