Prices soared on six Dr. Seuss books that were cancelled this week amid charges of racism and insensitive content.

These six titles have instantly become collector’s items with the prices rising even faster that the cost of gas.

The decision to stop publishing six of Dr. Seuss’ books coincided with Dr. Seuss’ 117th birthday and Read Across America Day.

Children all over the country grew up learning to read with the help of Dr. Seuss’s books.

But, in today’s politically correct, hyper-charged environment, some of the good doctor’s books got the boot.

If Dr. Seuss is subject to cancel culture, then nobody is immune.

Someone from The White House typically reads a Dr. Seuss book on Read Across America Day, but he got a big snub this year from the Biden Administration.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama didn’t object to reading Dr. Seuss, yet now he is considered racially insensitive. 

Dr. Seuss Enterprises will no longer publish “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,” “If I Ran the Zoo,” “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra!,” “Scrambled Eggs Super!,” and “The Cat’s Quizzer.”

Dr. Seuss Is Amazon Best Seller

Following the announcement, nine of the top 10 best selling books on Amazon were written by Dr. Seuss.

On Wednesday, 20 of Amazon’s top 50 best sellers were written by the famed author.

They were selling like hotcakes and it wasn’t just the “cancelled” titles. 

The six books that were targeted for reasons of insensitivity shot up in price on both Amazon and Ebay.

Some are even listed for tens of thousands of dollars.

American adults should call their mothers to see if their childhood books have been donated or if they are still available to be sold to the highest bidder. 

Dr. Seuss’s family takes issue with these 2021 accusations of racism. His stepdaughter says that simply is not the case. 

“There wasn’t a racist bone in that man’s body — he was so acutely aware of the world around him and cared so much,’’ Lark Grey Dimond-Cates said.

If the intent was truly to take these books out of circulation, the opposite effect has occurred.

They are suddenly in high demand, along with other titles from this author who people have enjoyed for generations.
