UFC On ABC 1: Max Holloway Proves His Worth In Featherweight Ranks

Former UFC champion Max Holloway made sure everyone would start 2021 remembering his name, dominating Calvin Kattar at UFC on ABC 1.

The event marked the first for the promotion on ABC, and the first MMA card to air live on network television in several years.

Holloway controlled the fight, sweeping all five rounds against Kattar in Abu Dhabi.

In the co-main event, former interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit picked up a decision over Matt Brown. 

The other three main card bouts ended in the first round highlighted by Li Jingliang stopping Santiago Ponzinibbio. Alessio Di Chirico knocked out Joaquin Buckley and Punahele Soriano finished Dusko Todorovic.

Like the main card, the prelims streamed live on ESPN+.

Joselyne Edwards, Carlos Felipe, Ramazan Emeev, Vanessa Melo and Austin Lingo were all winners.

The UFC continues in Abu Dhabi from Fight Island this Wednesday followed by UFC 257 on Saturday night with Conor McGregor returning against Dustin Poirier.
