The UFC continues to add fights to its spring schedule, and one of the latest being reported is a bout between two of the promotion’s rising stars.

Johnny Walker and Jimmy Crute have agreed to fight

According to an initial report from ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, and a follow-up report from MMA Junkie, Johnny Walker and Jimmy Crute have agreed to fight on March 27. A venue and location for the card has yet to be determined.

UFC runs

Walker (18-5) has been on a lot of folk’s must-see lists since he joined the UFC in 2018, as the 28-year-old stormed through his first three opponents. The buzz behind Walker ratcheted down, however, after he dropped back-to-back fights to Corey Anderson and Nikita Krylov.

But, in Walker’s last fight, he KO’d Ryan Spann, who had a ton of hype behind him leading into the bout (as he had won 8 straight.

Crute (12-1) is widely considered to be one of the top prospects at 205, on account of his 4-1 run in the UFC to date. The only fighter to beat the 24-year-old Australian is Misha Cirkunov.

Most recently, in October, Crute quickly knocked out Modestas Bukauskas.

Walker is currently ranked #9 in the UFC’s light heavyweight division and Crute is #12. So, the winner could very well move on to fight someone who is close to the top five, or possibly in it.
