Ben Askren Jake Paul

According to a report by ESPN, former UFC contender, Bellator champion and ONE world champion Ben Askren will take on Jake Paul in April.

The two will square off in an eight-round pro boxing match on April 17.

Ryan Kavanaugh, Triller founder, informed Ariel Helwani of ESPN of the bout.

The fight has been in the making through social media since Paul knocked out former NBA player Nate Robinson.

Askren and Paul have also since confirmed the bout.

Paul posted a lengthy message on Twitter in doing so, saying “Some MMA guys think because they throw punches they know how to box. I shocked the world when I knockout an NBA superstar athlete, but some people still complained that he’s not a real fighter.

“After I added Ben to my knockout meme collection, what can anybody say?”

In response, Askren said “Its cute that Jake things he is a real fighter.”
