Anderson’s Fight For Julian Assange

The Independent reported that Anderson has made headlines over the past year for her attempts to get former President Donald Trump to give a full pardon to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange before he left office.

Anderson went to visit Assange in a London prison in May of 2019. She said afterwards that it was “very difficult” to see him behind bars.

“He does not deserve to be in a supermax prison,” Anderson said. “He has never committed a violent act. He is an innocent person.”

Anderson was ultimately unsuccessful in convincing Trump to pardon Assange.

Anderson’s Own Social Media Job

Last May, Anderson announced that she had taken a job as the creative director of a new social platform at Jasmin.com. This site reportedly allows users to “communicate directly with influencers and experts about topics like travel, fashion, dating, and relationships.”

“I love the concept, I love the idea of trying to connect people,” Anderson said at the time. “I feel like it’s one of those things where users and influencers can talk about anything and it’s direct communication looking into somebody’s eyes – I kind of take social media to another level.” However, it’s unclear if Anderson still works with Jasmin or not.

Anderson’s announcement that she is quitting Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook come after all three of these social media sites permanently banned Trump following the Capitol riots earlier this month.

It’s unclear if Trump’s banning had anything to do with Anderson’s decision to leave the social media platforms as well.
