Megan Rapinoe, the US Women’s national team (USWNT) captain who became known as the Colin Kaepernick of the soccer world when she began taking a knee during the national anthem a few years ago, has spoken out about to make the Capitol riots all about race by claiming they were carried out by a “white supremacy mob.”

US Women’s Soccer Star Megan Rapinoe Discusses Capitol Riots With CNN

Just after her return to the USWNT, Rapinoe took the opportunity to speak at length with reporters about the events on January 6th.

“This is America, make no mistake about it,” Rapinoe told CNN on Tuesday. “I think we showed very much our true colors.”

“This is not the first time we have seen a murderous mob like that,” she continued. “Unleashing a White supremacy mob is nothing new to America as people of color, Black and Brown, know that very well.”

The professional soccer player went on to call for an investigation and to talk about how she feels that this event will go down in history.

“If we do not punish this and investigate this to the fullest extent it only encourages more of this to happen,” Rapinoe continued. “This week certainly will be hugely consequential in the history of our country, it’s going to be very intense.”

“Just from a personal standpoint it’s very unsettling and scary,” she added. “This was about White supremacy and holding up White supremacy and I hope that we can see this and move forward with justice.”

Megan Rapinoe Addresses Photo Of Trump Supporting Soccer Fan

Later in the interview, Rapinoe indicated that Trump supporters should not be welcomed as fans of women’s soccer.

She said this when asked about a photo of a person wearing both a Trump mask and the USWNT crest.

“I feel like I can probably speak on behalf of a lot of my teammates — that is not the kind of fan that we would welcome,” she said.

“The US crest is not to be confused with anything that has to do with White supremacy, anything that has to do with the Trump administration, anything that has to do with that divisive culture that we saw on the Capitol,” Rapinoe added.

“Don’t take any comfort in thinking that the crest is synonymous with that or the red, white and blue or the stars that we have above it,” she said. “I saw the picture. We want to create and continue to create a place that’s inclusive and safe and diverse … don’t bring that bullsh*t here.”

The Irony Is Lost On Her

Rapinoe seemingly does not see the irony in calling for “inclusivity” while also effectively telling the 70 million people who voted for Trump that they won’t be welcomed as fans of her sport because of their political beliefs.

Frankly, women’s soccer is not exactly the most popular sport around in terms of viewers. So Rapinoe really is not in a position to be turning away fans for any reason.

She must think awfully highly of herself to shame someone simply for wearing gear that supports both her sport and the sitting President of the United States?

It’s sad that we live in a time when a radical liberal athlete like Megan Rapinoe, who is paid a lot of money to kick a ball around on a field, is constantly given a national platform to spew her ignorant leftwing nonsense.
