Betty White birthday 99 Golden Girls Snickers

Cheers to the birthday girl, legendary Hollywood star Betty White, who turns 99 this coming Sunday, January 17. While Rose from the iconic “Golden Girls” won’t be able to have the large party that she would normally have for her birthday, White is still finding ways to celebrate amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Here’s a throwback to White’s 95th with some great shots of this comedic legend through the ages.

Betty White Stays Busy In Quarantine

White’s representative has spoken out to say that despite spending the past year on lockdown at home due to COVID-19, the former “Golden Girls” star has kept herself as busy as ever.

“Betty is in good health and spirits,” White’s representative told US Weekly, going on to add that the actress “would like to interact with her friends but does not” due to social distancing guidelines. Despite this, the former “Golden Girls” star has found plenty of safe activities to fill her time.

“Crossword puzzles are no match for Betty,” her representative continued. “She reads a number of newspapers, watches select television and gets a lot of exercise in her home walking up and down bedroom stairs.”

Betty White’s Birthday Plans

As for how she is planning to celebrate this momentous birthday, White is going to keep things low-key.

“The pandemic won’t stop Betty from celebrating turning 99 years old,” an insider told Closer Weekly.

“She’s planning a Zoom garden party with friends and a big chocolate birthday cake with candles. She’s always had a sweet tooth! She [also] asked for hotdogs and fries with ketchup.”

White reportedly plans to maintain a positive attitude on her birthday by spending time looking at the many “letters,” “birthday cards” and other “amazing gifts” that have been sent by her adoring fans.

“She’s [also] received handmade knitted scarves, ornaments and portraits they’ve painted,” the source added. “She feels so proud and blessed to have such a huge following and never takes her fans for granted!”

Nearly 99 And Still Working

Despite her advanced age, White is still a working actress, most recently voicing characters in the 2019 animated films Toy Story 4 and Trouble.

She also had a Christmas movie in the works with Lifetime that was announced back in May, but it unfortunately had to be pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re all still dreaming of a white Christmas with Betty White — unfortunately we will have to wait until 2021,” Lifetime said in a statement released back in September. “The movie is being pushed to next year due to COVID filming restrictions.”

White has not made any public appearances in over two years, since she took the stage at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards in September of 2018. There, she was given a standing ovation by the adoring crowd of Hollywood stars.

“It’s incredible that I’m still in this business and you are still putting up with me,” White said at the time. “All I can say is it’s such a blessed business to be in and how lucky can I be and how much I say thank you to each and every one [of you].”

Of course, my favorite golden age appearance by the incomparable Betty White is her 2010 Super Bowl commercial for Snickers. This comedic actress is a national gem.
