In an ideal world, all MMA fighters would be able to freely roam around and taken on the best of the best.
Well, we don’t live in that world at the moment.
But it hasn’t stopped those around the globe from discussing possible “dream” fights with one another including former UFC, Strikeforce and current Bellator champion Cris Cyborg.
In a recent interview with James Lynch, Cyborg noted her interest in possibly facing off against reigning PFL champion and Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison. With PFL set to return in early 2021, Harrison took a bout under the Invicta FC banner and dominated.
“A couple of fights I’ve seen her, I believe she’s fighting girls under, below her skill,” Cyborg said. “The girls aren’t on her level but she’s doing great.
“I believe this year she’s gonna fight for PFL, she’s gonna be in a tournament at 155, and if she becomes the champion of this tournament, for sure I would like to match with her that all the fans would like to watch.”
Cyborg, who has spent the majority of her career competing at featherweight, said that moving to lightweight is something she desires before retiring.
“I want to help build the division,” she said. “I’ve never had the opportunity.”
