The Mandalorian Theory Claims Jar Jar Binks Saves Baby Yoda Aka Grogu From Order 66

A new The Mandalorian theory claims that Jar Jar Binks saved Grogu from Order 66.

A new The Mandalorian theory claims that Jar Jar Binks saved Grogu from Order 66.

The theory comes from YouTube user Bushido Cavalier.

Bushido Cavalier states, “It’s very plausible that the notorious, infamous Jar Jar Binks is coming to Season 3 of The Mandalorian.”

He then went on to explain his theory citing the recent rumors that the Naboo starfighter will be making an appearance in Season 3.

After citing this latest rumor, Bushido Cavalier points to the most recent chapter of The Mandalorian, Chapter 13: The Jedi.

He explains, “So, in Chapter 13: The Jedi of The Mandalorian Season 2 when Ahsoka was able to read into Gorgu’s mind stating he was raised and trained in the Jedi temple on Coruscant. During the fall of the Jedi Order, Order 66, and the rise of the Empire he was taken from the Jedi temple by someone.”

Bushido Cavalier then details that once Din Djarin and Grogu arrive at Tython and are able to access the Seeing Stone it will awaken one of Grogu’s memories that reveals how he was saved from the Jedi temple when Order 66 was enacted and Darth Vader slayed the younglings.

He explains that this memory would be shown in a flashback that sees a scared Grogu hiding in the Jedi temple when all of a sudden a shadow is cast over him and then he hears a voice that tells him, “Youssa in big doodoo this time Grogu. Ani and the clones are storming templesa.”

Cavalier then states, “On a serious note, what if they want to make, I guess he’s considered the most hated Star Wars characters, say one of the most beloved characters in modern times. Basically giving Jar Jar Binks a redemption arc. Kind of like an anime scenario when a hated character gets a redemption arc. And at the end of the arc, everyone loves that character despite all the wrong doings.”

“And everyone knows that Jar Jar Binks gave the emergency powers to Sheev Palpatine. Basically, George Lucas when he said Jar Jar was the key to this, was the key to everything, Jar Jar was the key to the rise of the Empire and the fall of the Jedi order. But also being the key of the resurgence of the Jedi order. Kind of ticks all the boxes,” he theorized.

Cavalier then went on to point out that Jar Jar Binks actor Ahmed Best has become much more active in Star Wars recently. He explains, “The actor Ahmed Best [has] also been very active in the Star Wars community.”

He then goes on to detail what will happen after Grogu experiences this alleged flashback, “After the flashback ends, Grogu is probably going to pass that vision to Mando through the Force because technically he can’t really communicate with him by speech. Prompting Mando to take Grogu to planet Naboo. Eventually meeting up with an older and much wiser friendly Gungan as we know him by Jar Jar Binks.”

At the end of the video Cavalier does state, “Don’t take this as a serious plot line or leak whatever of what’s to come next season. It’s a little fun theory I came up with.”

Little is known about Jar Jar Binks’ story following the events of the rise of the Empire. He does appear in Chuck Wendig’s Star Wars: Aftermath: The End novel, where he is shown as a street performer in Naboo’s capital city of Theed.

The book reveals that Binks has been exiled by the Gungans and is an outcast among the people of Naboo for his role in helping the Empire come to power, specifically his proposal to give Palpatine emergency powers that allows him to form the Grand Army of the Republic.

Nevertheless, Binks performs in the street for a number of orphans, who lost their families in the war between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire. While Cavalier doesn’t mention it, it could be possible that Binks might have actually kept Grogu at the orphanage and was keeping an eye on him similar to how Obi-Wan Kenobi watched over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine.

However, if that is to be believed, the big mystery would be figuring out how Grogu arrived on the desert planet of Arvala-7.

If you remember, Din Djarin captures Grogu following a firefight with a number of Nikto sentries who had been guarding him.

What do you make of this theory? Do you think Jar Jar Binks will show up in The Mandalorian? Do you think the The Mandalorian will take us back to Naboo?
