Christmas 2020 wasn’t so looking so cheery for 94-year-old Queen Elizabeth until plans of a big Christmas surprise that Prince William and Kate Middleton have in the works came to light.

Earlier this month, it was announced that for the first time since 1988, Queen Elizabeth will not be spending Christmas at Sandringham estate.

Instead, she will be staying at Windsor Castle with her husband, 99 year-old Prince Philip as they take every precaution for COVID-19. 

As another measure of precaution, the Queen’s annual Christmas message will be delivered via Amazon’s Alexa this year. Starting at 3pm on Christmas Day, people can say “Alexa, play the Queen’s Christmas Day message” or “Alexa, play Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas Day message”.

Prince William And Kate Middleton Planning Christmas Surprise For Queen

While the Royal Family can’t all be together this year, a source has come forward to say that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are “planning a big surprise” to make the 94-year-old Queen’s Christmas “extra special.”

“While Kate and William won’t be seeing the queen in person this Christmas, they’re going out of their way to lift her spirits and make it extra special!” the insider told Closer Weekly. “He’s organizing a family Zoom call on Christmas Day.”

The source went on to say that Prince Charles, Prince Edward, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie “will be joining in on the fun” with their respective spouses and children.

Even Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will  “dial in from across the pond with [their son,] Archie,” according to the insider.

Just imagine how big the Queen’s smile will be when she gets to see so many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

William And Kate’s Christmas Plans

William and Kate reportedly have a fun Christmas planned with their three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2. Their day will even include “charades and festive games.”

“George, Charlotte and Louis can’t wait to tell the queen about their gifts and sing ‘Merry Christmas’ wearing their Santa hats,” the source continued. 

Kate is currently preparing for the Queen’s gifts to “be sent” so that they arrive by Christmas Day.

“Kate is baking cute cookies for the queen, and George, Charlotte and Louis are doing the decorating,” the source added. “Kate’s kids have already painted their handmade Christmas cards and written personal, heartwarming notes inside.”

Kate is reportedly trying to make the gift as personal as possible so that it will surely brighten up the Queen’s day.

“Kate spent days putting together a stunning leather-bound photo album containing pictures of their favorite moments with the queen and the children, which include never-seen-before images of previous Christmases, Easters, birthdays and christenings,” the insider stated.

“She plans to have it delivered to Windsor Castle on Christmas Day!”

The Queen Will Love Their Christmas Surprise 

The source concluded by saying that the Queen is sure to love this Zoom call, as having her family “reunite will definitely bring the queen so much joy.”

“Yes, Christmas will be different and lonelier for the queen this year, but at least she’ll feel the love,” the insider added. “Thanks to Kate and William bringing their family together from around the world.”

Christmas is going to look different this year for millions of us all over the world, so we can certainly all relate to what the Queen is going through.
