An 80-year-old Texas grandma achieved what many accomplished hunters have not. She got an 11 point buck. Remarkably, the Texas grandma shot the trophy sized buck from her kitchen window while she was making lunch.
Virginia Luce and her husband Myrl are active hunters. As they have gotten older, the pair have become more efficient with their hunting locations.
They live near the Davy Crockett National Forest in East Texas. This allows them to hunt without leaving their house.
Texas Grandma Shoots 11 Point Buck From Inside Her House
“I do all my hunting from the house now,” the hunting granny said. “My kitchen is my deer stand. We take the screen off one of the windows every fall. I can see a pretty good ways from there.”
During deer season, she keeps her rifle close by. The couple has corn feeders on their property to lure deer. They also have game cameras installed to help them locate the animals.
The retired nurse and four-time cancer survivor was fixing lunch on November 8th when she looked out the window and spotted a buck about 175 yards away. Luce grabbed her binoculars to confirm.

From there, she didn’t have any time to waste.
Luce didn’t even say anything to her husband who was watching television in another room. She grabbed her rifle and got it done – all from the kitchen window.
“She watches them all time when she’s in the kitchen,” the proud husband said. “Right after the shot she hollered, ‘Well, that was the big one, Daddy.’ That’s when I put my boots on, got on the tractor and went to load him up. He didn’t go far. She doesn’t miss very often.”
Virginia Luce has shot a lot of deer in her several decades of hunting, but this was the biggest one. It was so big that it distracted her from her task of making lunch.
“When I saw all those horns I thought was I seeing things — I’d never seen anything like it,” the grandma said. “I got so excited about that deer that I can’t even remember what I was fixing for lunch.”

Luce’s grandson Bruce Childers was so proud of her that he shared her accomplishment on Facebook.
He boasted that his grandma can out hunt your grandma and she did it without even leaving the house.
