After Deiveson Figueiredo quickly subbed Alex Perez at UFC 255 earlier this month, he reported he wasn’t down with not receiving a fight-night bonus. Well, it looks like Dana White has made up for the oversight…

White admits he messed up…

Generally speaking, when headlining fighters and or champions score memorable finishes, they received a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. But, following UFC 255, Joaquin Buckley and Antonina Shevchenko were given bonuses, but not the flyweight champ.

After the card, Figueiredo’s manager, Wallid Ismail, reported this about the bonus snub (quote via MMA Junkie).

“He was real disappointed when he didn’t get the bonus of the night because of the performance that he gave for the fans,” said Figueiredo’s trainer and manager, Wallid Ismail. “And I pushed him to stay here and not come back to Brazil, because Dec. 12 is now.

But I’m going to talk to Dana and Hunter (Campbell) and I’m going to push him to stay because it’s good for the fight, it’s good for the sport to show his power.”

Well, as you can see by watching the video below, White recognized the oversight and has paid the champ a bonus (warning: graphic language).

UFC 256

Not only did Figueiredo record an impressive win at UFC 255, he’s also doing the UFC a huge favor, as he’s agreed to fight Brandon Moreno at UFC 256, December 12th.

The card has had several title fights get punted from it. Most recently, it was announced that bantamweight champ Petr Yan will no longer face Aljamain Sterling at the event.

UFC 256 will be hosted by the Apex Facility in Las Vegas.
